RENEWING YOUR MIND……THE FLOODGATES OF GRACE(2)

Romans 12:2 NLT) Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. The grace of God is truly amazing. Studying grace is helping me to change the way I think, in order to have the proper balance between my decisions and God’s sovereignty, between my faith and God’s grace, between what God has done for me and What he expect me to do and also what He expects me to simply receive.
. Let’s talk about the importance of renewing our mind today.
After you’ve given your life to Christ, you’ve got a task. The Bible tells us not to live like the rest of the world. Don’t conform to the world’s standards and ways of doing things. Be different. Be transformed by the renewing of your mind. That means, change your way of thinking; have a new mindset. If you want to grow in your Christian life.If you want to see increased manifestation of the life of Christ and the glory of God in your life, you must keep renewing your mind with the Word.
Before you became a Christian, you live like the rest of the people in the world, you think, talk and live like them.you heard, and spoke words from the world; words that you learnt from your friends, from school, your environment, the members of your family, etc. Sometimes they were negative, immoral, bitter words, angry words, and harsh words. Some other times, they were nice words. However, God gives us words that are more than “nice”; words of the Kingdom, with which to transform our lives from glory to glory.
As you renew your mind with the Word of God, your spirit is inundated with divine truths; your mind is elevated to think Kingdom thoughts.
You become more and more like Christ, your mindset set is transformed. This is why learning and meditating on the Word is so important. God’s Word gives you a new way of thinking. Whereas you used to think failure, fear, lack, and immoral, the Word gives you the mindset of success, excellence, victory, dominion, abundance and godliness.
Now that you’re in Christ, refuse to be conformed to this world; rather, be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Renew your thinking with the Word. Renew your life by the word of God.
Paul’s dramatic declaration that we have become new creations in Christ has vast implications for our lives: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away . . . all things have become new . . . that we [our spirit] might become the righteousness of God in Him” (2 Cor. 5:17–21).
The “he” that Paul refers to is our spirit man. We possess the very righteousness of God in our spirit (v. 21). This describes our new legal position in Christ—how God sees and relates to us. In Christ, all things have become new pertaining to our spirit. This includes being fully accepted by God, receiving the authority to use the name of Jesus, and possessing the indwelling Holy Spirit. All of this enables us to resist sin, sickness, and Satan; to walk in victory; to renew our mind and to release the works of God through prayer.
. The Christian life is established on the foundation of this wonderful truth, which emphasizes what Christ did for us on the cross and what the Holy Spirit does in us in our daily life. And our responsibility to keep renewing our mind.Under this legal shift, the “old things” have passed away, meaning we are no longer held under the power or penalty of sin.
The core reality of the grace message empowers us to walk with God in a relationship of wholehearted love. Grace empowers us to keep renewing our mind through the word of God.
We must see grace through the lens of this quality of love and responsibility to keep renewing our mind. We must love Jesus on His terms, and He defined loving God in terms of a spirit of obedience to His commandments (see Jn. 14:15, 21, 23).
There is no such thing as living under grace without seeking to obey His Word. Some seek to love God on the terms of a humanistic culture that has no reference to obeying the Word. But loving and seeking to obey Jesus are synonymous. All of His commands are based in His love. Thus, the biblical message of grace teaches us to live righteously and to deny ungodliness as the way of expressing our love to God. It teaches to renew our mind continuessly with the word of God.
Since a renewed mind is the believer’s goal, we must continue practicing the word of God until our mind is in perfect fellowship with our recreated spirit and with the word. Reliance upon the Spirit of God is essential in moving us toward our goal of a renewed mind. A renewed mind is the believer’s goal; and we must reach that goal if we are to know the riches of God’s grace. I Corinthians 2:10-13, informs, “the Spirit searches all things, yea, the deep things of God”, empowering us to know the things which are freely given to us of God. Our renewed minds will come into this deep, rich fellowship with the Father through the word and His Spirit, enabling us to understand the wealth of the redemptive work which has been worked out in Christ.
And be renewed in the spirit of your mind. Or by the Spirit that is in your mind; that is, by the Holy Spirit; who is in the saints, and is the author of renovation in them; and who is the reviver and carrier on, and finisher of that work, and therefore that is called the renewing of the Holy Spirit, Titus 3:5 or rather the mind
It is an increase of spiritual light and knowledge, of life and strength, of joy and comfort, and fresh supplies of abundance grace, and a revival of the exercise of floodgates of grace which can renew us daily in the Spirit of our minds.
